The Nexans electric cable easily, cleanly and efficiently provides warmth in a variety of structures. The cable system is buried in sand beds beneath the concrete slab, and is contained in a storage reservoir that is created by insulating the foundation perimeter beneath the floor. Using the building’s foundation and the ground below it to store heat, the system radiates through the slab to provide uniform comfort across the entire floor. Often, Orbit radiant heating systems are all that is necessary to reliably and completely heat an entire warehouse or building.
By taking advantage of off-peak load shifting offered by local utilities, or by adding a variety of Orbit’s controllers, thermostats, switches and sensors to turn heat on and off only during the hours it is needed, business owners can realize even more cost savings.
