Electric Radiant Heat Turns Master Bath into “Coziest Room in the House”

When Anita Herd sold her house in 2004, she chose to move into a new development for those aged 55 and older. She picked the development, the Village of Dorchester located in Sellersville, Pa., because of its proximity to her family and good location.
 
When the home was being built, a family member, concerned about Herd’s health and comfort level, encouraged her to install electric radiant heating from Orbit in the floors throughout her home. She was, however, hesitant to do so because she didn’t know much about the product or anyone who had similar flooring. Ultimately, she chose to only install it in her master bathroom.

“I really should have put it throughout,” she says. “Now, I can really see the difference. The bathroom floor is just so warm all of the time. It’s so comfortable in there, and it makes the whole room warm, while my kitchen floor is freezing!”

Because Orbit’s Nexans radiant heating cable works well with any heating system, any type of floor and any floor covering, the cable was easy to install before laying down the bathroom’s ceramic tile floor.

The cable itself has three protective coverings to prevent damage during installation and operation, and it was readily sized to fit the 5’ x 8’ bathroom.

Herd has been completely surprised with how much she enjoys having her master bathroom floor heated. She says the bathroom is the “coziest room in the house” and that it requires no maintenance because it comes on automatically. In fact, she now is extremely regretful of not having installed Orbit’s cable throughout her home, especially because her two-bedroom, three-bathroom home is situated on a large concrete slab underneath the house (she doesn’t have a basement), making the floor particularly cold.

“Without having experienced the comfort possible by Orbit’s radiant floor heating system, I never would have believed the difference it makes. I am really happy with it.”
